The Neurosciences Service line at ChristianaCare is seeking an Adult-Geriatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our NeuroInterventional Surgery team!

We are located at our award-winning Comprehensive Stroke Certified hospital and Level 1 Trauma Center on the Newark, DE campus of the ChristianaCare hospital system. Our exceptional and specialized team works together to care for a variety of patients including those with acute ischemic stroke requiring endovascular treatment, non-traumatic intracranial and aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage, traumatic cerebral vascular injuries, and other neurologic conditions including vertebral augmentation and lumbar radicular pain, in both the inpatient and outpatient settings.

In addition to NeuroInterventionalists, we also have the support of working with a multidisciplinary team including Neurosurgery, NeuroIntensivists, Vascular Neurologists, Hospitalists and the Trauma service, and a variety of outpatient sub-specialties.

The ideal candidate for this position is comfortable working independently, while in collaboration with the NeuroInterventional attending, to perform direct medical management of neurovascular patients while utilizing approved protocols, procedures, and expert consultation after a well-rounded and comprehensive orientation. Qualified candidates will have prior experience as an Advance Practice Clinician, though we welcome new APCs and have experience onboarding both new and experienced providers.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant or Adult-Geriatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program required
  • Must be certified or eligible for certification by either the NCCPA or ANCC
  • Licensed or license eligible in the State of Delaware, including prescriptive authority and DEA
  • Previous Advanced Practice Provider experience preferred
  • BLS and ACLS certification preferred
